  • How to book my overnight stay?

    Before your overnight stay you will receive an email to remind you to book your accommodation. There will also be an announcement on Canvas.

    In case you choose to stay in the log cabins on campus the University of Twente will make reservations for you for a whole block. The reservation will be made in your name. You will have to pay in advance for the whole block. The reservations can be made on the webpage for Mechanical Engineering or Creative Technology.

    In case you choose to stay somewhere else, you need to make your own arrangements.

  • Do I need to pay a reservation fee?

    No, there is no reservation fee.

  • What is the price of an overnight stay?

    We would like to refer you to our websites for the most current prices.

  • How can I change or cancel a reservation?

    Reservations are made for a whole block, so changing it is not possible during that time frame. At the end of each block you will get the opportunity to reconsider your current choice.

  • What happens if I want to book after the deadline?

    The deadline for booking and payment is two weeks before the start of the block. If you have missed the deadline, you need to take care of your own overnight stays.

  • How do I pay and whom do I pay?

    You pay for your overnight stay through an online payment. On the website you can find the link for this payment. Your reservation will be finalised after your payment has been received and checked. It is not possible to pay in installments or to book only a part of the overnight stays during a block.

  • Where can I pick up the key for the log cabin?

    You can pick up the key at the servicedesk of the Sports Centre (near the log cabins) only on the day of arrival.

    o   Monday to Friday - servicedesk sport centre from 14:00 - 00:00
    o   Sunday - security building Spiegel from 14:00 - 00:00
    o   No keys are collected on Saturdays

  • Where can I pick up the access card for the Stall?

    You can pick up the access card at the servicedesk of the Sports Centre (near the log cabins) only on the day of arrival. There is only 1 access card per log cabin available, so 1 person will be responsible for it.

    o   Monday to Friday - servicedesk sport centre from 14:00 - 00:00
    o   Sunday - servicedesk sport centre from 14:00 - 00:00
    o   No keys are collected on Saturdays

  • What are the opening hours from the Stall?

    The Stall is available from 7:30 till 0:00 (midnight) only during your stay in the log cabins.
    Security will close the Stall at midnight.

  • Is there a check-in and check-out time?

    Yes, there are check-in and check-out times:

    • Log cabins check-in: from 14:00
    • Log cabins check-out: 11:00

    At the check-out you have to return the key and the access card to the sport centre servicedesk.

    Are you staying in a hotel, hostel, airBnB? Ask for their check-in and check-out times.

  • Can I leave my luggage at the log cabin when I go to lectures?

    During your stay you can lock down the log cabin with your own key. After check-out (11:00 on the day of departure),  you will have to take your luggage with you to your lectures.

  • Can I indicate a preferred roommate?

    No, the layout of the log cabins are made in order of receiving your payment.

  • I have not turned 18 yet, but I would like to reserve a place in the log cabin. Is that possible?

    You may do so, it is assumed that parents are aware of and agree with the booking made by the students in question.

  • Do I need to bring my own pillow and blanket?

    No, pillows and blankets are available. However, you do need to bring your own sleeping bag/coverlet and towel.

  • Do I need to bring my own sheet package?

    No, a sheet package is ready on your bed. During the booking process you will pay €3 per night during your stay in the log cabin.You are required to purchase a sheet package. It is not possible to bring your own sheet package.

  • Do I need to clean the log cabin myself?

    No, cleaning will be done for you. However, we expect that you leave the log cabins inside and outside tidy, e.g.:
    -waste in the appropriate bins
    -bottles from tables
    -refrigerator must be empty
    -etc.

  • Do I have to pay in case of damage?

    In all cases of damage, all costs will be directly recovered from the student.
    The UT expects payment for the damage from the person responsible and will deny any application of this person for residence at UT log cabins for the time this is not recovered. In case of damage a second time, the student will be placed on a blacklist and will be denied access to the log cabins.
    Of course, in case of an accident, the student might be able to recover the damage through his/her insurance, this, however, will not run via the UT.

     

     


    There will be an extra cleaning. You have to pay this invoice by yourself.

  • Is it allowed to have a bbq near the log cabins?

    No, it is not allowed to have a bbq near the log cabins.
    The University of Twente has made it possible for students and staff to hold bbqs at several locations on campus. University of Twente students and staff may upon request and subject to certain conditions and safety measures, use these locations. All other areas are not official bbq areas and may never be used for bbqs without the express permission of the Events Office and/or a Facilities team leader.

  • Do the log cabins have security/contact person in case of emergency?

    The University of Twente has campus security. You can reach them via +31 53 489 2134. 

  • How do I get to the University of Twente in Enschede?

    The University of Twente can easily be reached by public transport. You can take a train to Hengelo, Enschede or Enschede Science Park/Kennispark. After that, you can take a bus. You can also come by car. More information about your route to Enschede.
