RISE (Rocketry Innovations and Space Engineering), the student team of the VU-UT bachelor's programme Mechanical Engineering and the first student team of the collaboration between the VU and the UT, now has an official status. 'It has always been our goal to become an official student team and have the UT and the VU as close partners. Because in order to make a student team successful, you need a wide range of resources and for that a good connection with both universities is required. With this new step, we hope to establish beautiful and innovative projects. In July, we will have our first launch of the year with three launch attempts that can be followed online via a livestream,' says team leader Nathan Jacques. RISE's ambition is to develop reusable biofuel rockets to clean up space debris.
