Workshop and kickstart

Net Zero Emissions and Circularity

In December, the Responsible Societies coalition held a follow-up workshop on Net Zero Emissions and a kick-start on circularity and adaptive capacity.

The workshop explored research interests shared by VU Amsterdam and UT researchers on topics such as keeping fossil fuels in the ground and so-called energy communities. These are collective, citizen-led energy actions that help pave the way for a transition to clean energy. The coalition aims to align the interests of all researchers involved and, with the help of a number of civil society partners, obtain funding for its research. The kick-off focused on work in the area of circularity and adaptability. It also explored topics such as circular regions and blue-green infrastructure. The latter is a strategically planned network of natural and semi-natural areas with various environmental characteristics that serve different ecosystems.
