General information about the programme

Two universities. One ambition. 

In the Mechanical Engineering (ME) programme, students work on high-tech solutions for the future and become experts in inventing, designing, improving and maintaining machines, structures and processes. Such as clean energy, an innovative hearing aid, the hinges for a new robotic hand or an earthquake-resistant bridge. Within the programme, students apply the integrated mechanical engineering theory direct in realistic team projects.

ME is a three year bachelor's programme in English taught at both the UT and VU Amterdam. Students take courses at VU Amsterdam and have the UT's high-tech labs at their disposal for practical assignments and projects. ME offers very good job and career prospects and has the highest student satisfaction within the Mechanical Engineering area according to the Universities Choice Guide 2023.
