‘These were special weeks because we saw a whole part of the 'life cycle' of a CreaTe bachelor student pass by. From the open days at the UT and VU Amsterdam to the bachelor's ceremony in Enschede. And such a cycle comes with different emotions. From students who are curious and sometimes still shy and doubtful to students who are celebrating and confident at the award ceremony. Who, it must be said, surprised us with their beautiful graduation projects.
In Amsterdam, we were at the open days for the first time, organised by Communication & Marketing. An exciting milestone that we really looked forward to. We came with our very best team and found our place at the Humanities and Beta Information Festival. We also presented our programme six times in two days in front of around 150 prospective students. We got plenty of support from our colleagues from Mechanical Engineering in Amsterdam, both in the presentations and at the Information Festival. Their rocket and our lightsabre were really cool and attracted a lot of attention.
It was interesting to experience open days at another university. We were happy with all our acquaintances who stopped by in Amsterdam and with the support of Antske Fokkens: the face for the programme next year in Amsterdam. We were even happier with all the prospective students and their parents who came to visit us. And fair is fair: our student team sells CreaTe like no other. We salute you!
And now? On to the next phase. The dust surrounding the open days has settled and the first students have now registered in Amsterdam. We will regroup and reorganise ourselves so that we can go full speed ahead. I look forward to many more life cycles in Enschede and Amsterdam.’
