Fallen off cloud nine

Sometimes you think things are going really well. And then suddenly you realise that we really need to accelerate the things we are doing and need to be started in Amsterdam in a few months' time. Indeed: a few months. Not a year. The hiring of new teaching champs is progressing but too slowly. After all, we would also like to give our new colleagues a solid foundation in Enschede. As we get more concrete, the challenges also become clearer and we run into new obstacles. Like developing new online platforms.

Why do you even worry about websites, Alma? Well... because they are quite important for students. I challenge anyone to take a look at what happens online when you want to apply in Amsterdam: you may get yoked between the websites of VU Amsterdam and Twente. That's not nice. And when students say they can't find their way around: I completely understand. Fortunately, the problem is now seen and people are working hard to improve the situation and, in all honesty, it really does make for a better website!

Sometimes I hear that maybe I like CreaTe too much. No, not too much, but in any case so much so, that I do everything within my power to make sure the students have a good time. As a team, we do everything we can to give them a good education and experience. There is still a bizarre amount of work to be done on all fronts but everyone is very busy and in many cases, this is something 'that comes with the territory'.

With all the pressure I am feeling right now, it is also really nice to take a moment to reflect on what a fantastic study programme CreaTe actually is. We’re in a good environment and the  vibe is also very good.  That’s why I am happy to share a preview of a video we recently made with Simon Pruijn about what characterises CreaTe: the vibe. If you watch it and think: I want to put my shoulders to the wheel too: you are very welcome!
