Effective cooperation within police teams
During conflict situations with civilians, police officers must work together closely. This cooperation is crucial as it impacts the safety of the public, officers and suspects. However, in high-pressure situations, individuals often narrow their focus, which can hinder effective collaboration with colleagues and de-escalation of the situation.
Understanding how police teams can respond effectively and continue working together in such challenging environments is key to ensuring safety and effectiveness under threat or aggression.
This research aims to contribute to that understanding by integrating innovative measurement technologies to study the effectiveness of cooperation within police teams. The project combines expertise from various fields, including educational sciences, Human Movement Sciences, instructional technology, biometrics and data management. Additionally, the researchers leverage a long history of collaboration with the police and action teams at the Veiligheidscampus Twente.
