VU students and UT researchers measure the impact of a VR exhibition

Sebastian Hirjoaba, Iris Roskam, and Eser Berçin, bachelor’s students from VU’s interdisciplinary minor in Digital Humanities and Social Analytics, have developed a user experience study for VR art exhibitions under the guidance of UT researchers Shenghui Wang and Delaram Javdani Rikhtehgar.

The students visited the UT campus to work with an existing VR exhibition, experience it firsthand and define the requirements for their research. They designed a self-report survey to measure users’ subjective experiences, such as emotional engagement, perceived comfort and the level of immersion in the VR environment. They then explored how to link objective biometric data, such as eye-tracking, with these self-reported experiences.
