Secure Societies: broader, more inclusive, more resilient

The VU-UT impact coalition Secure Societies is broadening its scope to strengthen societal resilience in response to increasingly complex security challenges. In the coming period, the coalition will focus on engaging a wider range of societal partners, with an emphasis on trust and inclusivity. By collaborating with organisations such as Victim Support Netherlands (Slachtofferhulp Nederland) and the Council for the Judiciary (Raad voor de Rechtspraak), the coalition aims to shift the focus from police organisations to other key actors within the security domain, with special attention to the perspectives of citizens.

In recent years, Secure Societies has primarily focused on building strong collaborations with police organisations, leading to successful partnerships and significant research outcomes. With the expansion of the coalition, Secure Societies aims to gain deeper insights, strengthen trust in institutions and foster a more inclusive approach to societal security issues.
