Creative Technology is nearly ready for launch, with many preparations in place and a few challenges still to be tackled before the new year.

We're almost there

“We’re almost there, but not quite yet.” Do you know this song? It’s often sung during the "avondvierdaagse", a popular Dutch event where participants walk several kilometers each evening over four days, typically in June. It perfectly describes the current phase at Creative Technology.

A lot has been done and is ready. The education logistics, the Musketiers are eager to start, Gijs, the study advisor/coordinator in Amsterdam, is excited to spread his wings, the marketers from both universities are working on a plan for the upcoming year, and… we’re planning the launch party.

However, there are still some things to solve. Have we got everyone on board for next year in a way that will make both students and us happy? What about the capacity of the cabins for ME and CreaTe, and when will the renovations be finished? Are the incoming first-years receiving too many confusing messages from the two universities? Have we really sorted out all the gaps in the schedule, including the recruitment of Teaching Assistants?

In all these details, it’s easy to forget to enjoy this phase of the year when CreaTe students at the UT are giving their best in their amazing end-of-year and graduation projects – our crown jewels. It reminds me of how incredibly diverse and talented our students are and how passionately they’re being guided.

Ladies and gentlemen, CreaTe isn’t just a program. CreaTe is a gift – a big gift to cherish and develop further. So, don’t forget to enjoy and be proud of what the program delivers. And maybe we should also enjoy the fact that we’re almost there in Amsterdam. A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed. For now, happy holidays to all!
